Bari in Jazz Festival 2016

The 12th edition of Bari in Jazz comes back this year building on the metropolitan format introduced last year in the historic Festival organised by Abusuan cultural organisation, in collaboration with Murattiano.

Music and territory. The Festivals expands like a sound wave from the Apulian capital to the other municipalities of the urban area that will host Festival's events: Bari, Acquaviva delle Fonti, Alberobello, Conversano, Corato, Gioia del Colle, Giovinazzo, Gravina in Puglia, Molfetta, Polignano a Mare, Turi. All together there will be more then 20 live performances together with other side events that are able to attract an heterogeneous public for interest and musical taste, with a programme filled with important national and international names and local talents, selected by the Artistic Director, musician Luca Acquino.

Bari in Jazz 2016, that is part of Apulia Jazz Network, the network of jazz festivals of Puglia Sounds and part of Europe Jazz Network, continues as a diffused Festival, between 1st and 28 of June the Festival will fill historical places and squares: the Cathedral and Auditorium Vallisa in Bari, Duomo square in Giovinazzo, Gonnelli square in Turi, Sedile square in Corato, the Atrio of Palazzo de Mari in Acquaviva delle Fonti; concerts of world-famous artists will also take place in the beach of Cala Paura in Polignano, in the Trullo Sovrano in Alberobello, at the Cloister of San Benedetto in Conversano, at the Svevo Castle in Gravina, at the Rossini Theater in Gioia del Colle and at the amphitheater Ponente in Molfetta.

This second metropolitan edition will include Bari in Jazz Kids, a brand new programme dedicated to children with the support of the Royal Jordanian airline, in collaboration with the Jordanian National Orchestra Association and the Orchestra Borgo Antico and Città dei Bimbi, that are part of the international UNESCO campagin: #UNITE4HERITAGE.
